Carlos Peña-Montoya is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding harpists of his generation and is a laureate of numerous international competitions. He began his musical journey at the age of 11 under the guidance of Professor Ruth Garita, later continuing his training with Professor Eileen Mason, the principal harpist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, he graduated with honours from the prestigious Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where he studied under the tutelage of Professor Helga Storck.  Based in Europe since 2007, Peña-Montoya has forged a dynamic career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and educator. His celebrated recitals have graced prominent venues, including the Glass Hall (Gläserner Saal) at the Musikverein in Vienna and the Gasteig Concert Hall in Munich. He collaborates frequently with symphony orchestras across Germany and Austria, joining them on extensive tours. Notably, in 2012, he won the 6th edition of the international Summa Cum Laude Youth Music Festival in Vienna as a member of the Siam Sinfonietta (Thailand), an ensemble with which he maintains regular artistic ties. Today, he performs alongside leading European orchestras under the baton of distinguished conductors and is highly sought after for commercial recordings and radio broadcasts. Among his chamber music projects, he collaborates closely with the outstanding flautist Agata Kielar-Długosz; together, they recorded the album Modern Lullabies (released by the DUX label), which earned widespread acclaim from international music critics.
